About the wine
In the 13th century, Cistercian monks brought viticulture from Burgundy to Valdepenas, to the “Valley of the Stones” between Madrid and Malaga with its stony, reddish-yellow soils - today the largest wine-growing region in Spain. The low-lying chalk layer stores water during the hot summer months, which has a positive effect on the grapes. The family-owned company Navarro Lopez, founded in 1904, produces great, smooth wines here using the latest methods. The consistent focus on varietal purity with Tempranillo and Garnacha grapes, the low number of vines per hectare and the careful barrique aging of the wines make Don Aurelio a real secret tip.

Tasting note
A balanced, persistent, fruity, fresh and rich wine, ruby red with violet reflections and a fairly intense, complex scent of dark berries, followed by some sour cherry and plum aromas, dried fruits and a slightly smoky roasted aroma. On the palate, this red wine is dry, harmonious, full-bodied and quite soft, its fruit and smoke aromas are also evident here, with subtle aspects of pepper and earthiness.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with grilled or fried beef.
