About the wine
Vito Cantania, a successful Milanese businessman with Sicilian roots, inherited the vineyards in the mid-1990s and immediately began to resume the old wine-growing tradition. The entire company was renovated and expanded from head to toe. The vineyards were reforested and from then on farmed organically, new working methods were implemented and very privileged vineyards were purchased in Val di Noto. In a very short time, Gulfi, with its fine, racy Nero DaVola, which reflects the terroir, has become one of Sicily's leading producers and was named Winery of the Year in 2012.

Tasting note
An ambassador. Calmly portray in all colors and facets his homeland, the warm air, ripe yellow fruits, the barren flora, conifers and resin, the warm, dusty soil and the bites of the sea. Passion is now added to the palate, the hot summers, rugged rocks, wild herbs, almonds, tart scrub, spicy details - an unsustainable story with wonderfully fresh tones at the end. Don't drink too cold!
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpöstler-Tipp: Goes well with fish with herbs, soft cheese and poultry.
Vinification
Selective reading by hand. Ageing and maturing (8 months) take place in temperature-controlled steel tanks.
