About the wine
The reflection of the sun in the Douro River, which gives the vineyards a changing play of colors, was the inspiration for the name Tons de Duorum. This wine expresses the entire terroir of the fascinating Douro region — the result of a harmonious interplay between nature and human craftsmanship. The wines of the João Portugal Ramos Group are represented internationally and are among the best-selling Portuguese wines in several countries. Today, the winemaker is supported by two of his five children — João Maria in the area of oenology and Filipa in marketing — and is thus leading the family business into the next generation.

Tasting note
Brilliant citrine yellow. Intense and lush citrus aromas, accompanied by floral notes. Well-integrated acid that gives wine volume and supports long-lasting retronasal aromas. Fresh and persistent aftertaste.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with seafood, grilled fish, fresh salads or goat cheese.
Vinification
After arrival at the wine cellar, the grapes are carefully selected, destemmed and gently crushed. This is followed by a cold maceration period before fermentation (10 to 12 °C) in stainless steel tanks with an automated understamping system for around three days. The alcoholic fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of around 25 °C.
