The Eleventh Hour Shiraz 2019 - Massena

A real find from downunder. Hard to believe, but they almost pulled out the vines for this wine. The very old plot yielded only low yields, and no one was willing to pay for the exceptional grapes — until Jaysen Collins became aware of this treasure. His courageous intervention saved the vineyard — at the very last minute, or, as they say in English, “at the eleventh hour.” Lucky, otherwise this magnificent wine wouldn't be available today. The pure Shiraz is produced as naturally as possible, without interventions and with wild yeasts. It smells of plum, licorice and pepper and is rather delicate in style compared to other Barossa wines, but without sacrificing strength and fruit.
