Terrasses du Larzac AOC/bc Carlan 2023 - Mas Jullien

Old vines from Carignan, Grenache and Cinsault around 20 kilometers north of Jonquyeres, the actual seat of the estate. It is the only place where grenache plantations still exist on Jullien's plots. Due to global warming, the variety is losing its clear profile and produces high alcohol levels. At altitude, however, it still produces great wines and forms the basis for Carlan. The aging takes place in medium-sized wooden barrels with a capacity of 800 to 1500 liters, separated by type. Spicy fruity bouquet, elegant start followed by a strong yet fine-grained tannin. It will continue to refine, but it is already a treat for lovers of exciting wines. Carlan is always bottled 6 months earlier than La Brune or Autour de Jonquières and is also more elegant and available earlier than the two wines. In maturity, this difference is lost.
