About the wine
If we can offer something special for Easter 2023, it's this distinctive Grenache 2021 — Tabuca DO Campo de Borja. Beautiful and picturesque landscapes of the Upper Ebro give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Spanish winery Gil Pejenaute conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. Tasting note
The tabuca is deep purple with purple reflections. The nose is dominated by aromas of red berries, Mediterranean herbs and light floral accents. On the palate, the wine is red-fruity and dense with a firm tannin structure, pleasant acidity and a long-lasting and harmonious finish. Javier impressively demonstrates that Garnacha grapes from higher altitudes can produce wonderfully elegant wines that have a natural balance of sweetness, acidity and tannins and stand out clearly from previous power wines with lots of alcohol from this appellation.

Vinification
The vines for the Tabuca are 35-45 years old and are rooted on various clay and iron-rich, sandy plots facing west and southwest at 700-750 meters above sea level. After manual harvesting, spontaneous fermentation takes place in open 3000 liter barrels before the wine is further aged in 500 liter oak barrels with low roasting.
