Christmas 2022 is just around the corner! Make the most of it with this powerful Shiraz 2020 — Syrah Limited Edition AOC! You can describe the landscape with such words as hilly. However, the Swiss winery Siebe Dupf Kellerei is trying to express the beauty of its homeland with this red wine. We think he succeeded! The Flaschenpöstler promise a dining experience when you serve this Shiraz with game or roasted vegetables.

Tasting note
This Basel-based Syrah comes in a sparkling ruby red with purple reflections. On the nose, aromas of dark fruits, black berries, ripe plums paired with spicy notes of white pepper, cigar box and a touch of cedarwood inspire. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and harmonious with lots of fruit and spice, velvety tannins, juicy acidity and a long-lasting and elegant finish. An extremely rare Syrah that is great fun even young but also has great storage potential
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with lamb, game, hearty meat dishes, cheese, Basel specialties, stews.
Vinification
The late-ripening Syrah variety is only very rarely fully ripe in our region. However, in the year of the century 2018, this succeeded excellently and for the first time 300 kg of perfect Syrah grapes from goats reached the winery in Liestal. Reason enough to press them separately. The grapes were spontaneously fermented in open vats with natural yeasts. This is followed by malolactic fermentation and an 18-month aging in a new oak barrel from Burgundy. Before the start of sales, the wine was allowed to mature for a further 3 months in steel tanks and four months in the bottle. A total of only 300 bottles were produced and each bottle was numbered by hand.
