About the wine
The family estate Berger-Gei is located in Überetsch 500 m above sea level. Since 1870, the small business has been growing wine and instead of handing over the grapes to the winegrowers' cooperative, they have also been pressing them themselves since 1989. Ignaz Niedrist combines tradition with modern wine culture and always has the highest quality standards. His wines have a pure, almost purist style, are elegant and, with their great personality, are always in direct connection with the region.

Tasting note
Bright, dark purple Fruity, full-bodied and elegant wine with a strong body and ripe, soft tannins. Dense structure and lingering in the aftertaste.
Culinary recommendation
With lamb, mushroom dishes, vegetable gratins, hearty pasta and tender stews.
Vinification
Mash fermentation in open oak vats followed by acid degradation. 15 months storage in barriques, partly made of new wood.
