This distinctive red wine 2012 — Südtiroler Merlot Mollis Crescendo DOC is a hit right down to the last drop in the truest sense of the word! With experience and intuition, the winemaker from the Italian winery Ritterhof masters this red wine in the blooming and picturesque landscape of South Tyrol. Culinary tip from Flaschenpöstler: This Merlot is ideal to be served with duck or poultry.

Tasting note
Deep, dark ruby red. Complex on the nose, with fruity notes of blackberries and raspberries, complemented by spicy aromas such as vanilla and roasted notes. Velvety tannins on the palate, medium-weight, complex with ripe fruit notes and spices. Elegant and characterful with a long-lasting finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with veal, grilled beef & hard cheese.
Vinification
The grapes are lightly crushed, destemmed and fermented at a temperature of 28°C for approx. 10 days. By gently tamping the shells and carefully pumping the must, contact with the skins is maintained for as long as possible in order to achieve good color and flavor extraction. The aging takes place in small French oak barrels for 12 months and then in the bottle for a further 6 months.
