About the wine

Stina Vino - Inspiracija iz kamena - Inspiration from stone. Brac is a unique island known for its white stone (Stina). Because of its beauty, the Bracer stone has always been a source of inspiration. Hence the simple white labels. In 2009, the former cooperative winery was bought by Mr. Jako Andabak and the company Jako vino d.o.o. was founded. Following the takeover, the winery was completely reconstructed and brought up to the latest technological standards. Today, Stina is the flagship winery from Croatia!

Tasting note
Dark dense purple with purple reflections. Very open, profound and complex bouquet. Jumping, powerful, energetic primary fruit. The nose of Plavac is dominated by Mali-typical notes of cherries, sour cherry compote, Mediterranean spices such as rosemary and laurel berries, and ripe plum jam. Lots of meaty tannin in perfect quality. A masterpiece of complexity and balance. Already very promising, but it will certainly grow significantly over the next few years. Just a masterpiece. The Stina Plavac Mali Majstor is one of the best Plavac Mali red wines in Croatia, and rightly so! The dry red wine made from hand-picked grapes is obtained by controlled fermentation in steel tanks and wooden barrels. This takes place for 20 to 40 days while aging takes place for 16 months in new barrique barrels. Storage potential target for the next 12-15 years.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with beef, lamb and game as well as aged cheese.
Vinification
After careful harvesting and strict selection by hand, the Plavac Mali grapes are destemmed and then macerated for 30 days. Fermentation is then carried out in a thermo-controlled stainless steel tank. The young wine is then aged in French barriques for more than 18 months. After vinification is complete, the wine is aged in the bottle for a further 12 months.
