About the wine
Beautiful and sunny landscapes of the coastal region give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the South African winery Keermont conjures up this red wine with refinement and experience. With the powerful Shiraz 2014 — Steepside Syrah, nuances and accents are redefined. The Flaschenpöstler promise a culinary experience when you offer this Shiraz with venison or barbecue.

Tasting note
Bright, rich ruby red — expressive, complex nose with aromas of red berries, fynbos and cloves. Very elegant on the palate, finely structured and with silky balanced tannins. Fruity notes of ripe plums and juicy berries are complemented by subtle herbal tones and a touch of black pepper. The finale ends in a complex way, with the fruit perfectly supported by tannins and acidity.
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpöstler-Tipp: Steepside Syrah passt hervorragend zu Wild, Barbecue und geröstetem Gemüse. Unsere Empfehlung: Geniessen Sie diesen Rotwein bei leicht gekühlten 16°-18°C. Der Wein sollte in diesem Zeitraum genossen werden: Jetzt bis 2032.
Vinification
Die Vinifikation fand wie folgt statt: Alle Trauben die verarbeitet wurden kommen von der Farm selbst. Umsichtig wurden sie nach und nach zum pefekten Reifezeitpunkt von Hand geerntet und separat vinifiziert. Die Fermentation fand in der traditionellen Methode in offenen Fermentern statt. 22 Monate reifet der Wein in französischem Holz, bevor er ungefiltert auf die Flasche gefüllt wurde.
