About the wine

Located on the slopes of Lavaux, Domaine des Faverges offers a breathtaking view of Lake Geneva. The estate has only changed hands once: For around 700 years, it was owned by the Cistercian Abbey of Hauterive, and since 1848 it has belonged to the State of Freiburg. The monks settled in 1138 on this land, which they had received from Baron Guillaume de Glâne. They formed the typical terraces there to plant vines, among other things. Gérald Vallélian and his team manage the 15.4 ha of the Domaine des Faverges. As president of Saint-Saphorin and vice-president of Lavaux Patrimoine, Gérald is particularly committed to preserving local cultural heritage, but this does not prevent him from expressing his creativity in winemaking methods or creating new wines.
