About the wine
The winemaker from the Spanish winery Bodegas Shaya is absolutely proficient in his craft. Style and finesse are the characteristics of this white wine, which originates in the picturesque and magnificent landscape of the Duero Valley (Castilla y Leon). Tasting note
Light straw yellow with greenish reflections that speak for his youth. Clean and bright Muscular aromas are found in the nose. Especially aromas of white and exotic fruits, lemon peels and ripe pears. Fresh and energizing. The taste is very concentrated, tactile and dense with a juicy, mineral note. Very fruity on the palate with slight spicy notes. Reminiscent of a beautiful Burgundy and shows that very elegant and long-lasting wines can also be produced in the Rueda area!!
Culinary recommendation
Ideal with grilled fish, seafood, light pasta dishes, risotto, fresh salads or as an aperitif. Perfect for Mediterranean cuisine and light summer dishes.
Vinification
The grapes come from old vines with low yields, which were grown in the southern part of Segovia in the Rueda area. Under the care and technical guidelines of Australian winemaker Belinda Thomson, the wine is fermented in barrels for 20 days and rests in 500-600 liter oak barrels on its own yeasts for 8 months before being bottled.
