Schioppettino Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2021 - Venica & Venica

Friuli is rich in less or unknown grape varieties. One of them is Schioppettino, also known as Ribolla Nera, which is based on its relationship with the more common Ribolla Gialla. Both are found virtually only in Friuli, and none have succeeded beyond that. In doing so, both develop an interesting aroma. Venica & Venica is virtually predestined for growing and pressing varieties such as Schioppettino. Like hardly any other winemakers, the Venica brothers know how to highlight the varietal characteristics of the many grape varieties, which they offer almost all varietal. Schioppettino is demanding in cultivation, climate-sensitive and irregular. But when it ripens well, all the patience pays off and results in a wine that is worth discovering and that is also becoming more and more popular.
