About the wine
Gianni and Paolo run the small winery (25 ha) in the third generation - as children, the two brothers absorbed the values of the family and traditional winegrowing like sponges. And even today, they remain loyal to them. All the work, and it is hard work, is for wine, the region, the country, and not for profit. Lots of handwork, lots of passion, lots of intuition. No herbicides or pesticides, not even large machines; rather, the two brothers carefully accompany the grapes from spring through autumn to the cellar. Great wines, and pleasantly different, each bottle seems full of soul and memories, as if you were there yourself.
Tasting note
Drinking brother - a little peculiar, almost grubby, and yet with so much joy and affection. There is joy: the red clear berry fruit, and warmth: it is precisely the not so pure, daring and yet so peaceful that makes him so approachable and human: leathery, animalistic notes and spices, and then out so freely, not a word in front of the mouth: pointed: peppery, fresh notes. On the palate, this intimate, warm connection and carelessness: red to brown fruit, berries, balsamic notes, warm spices: a touch of cinnamon, allspice, also licorice, so benevolent, so cheerful freshness, with almost cheerful exuberance, as well as direct, authentic: spicy and peppery. That is so undisguised, it makes the heart speak, a fine guy, even if not dressed up - Schioppettino!
Vinification
Very selective reading by hand. Very gentle and gentle workmanship throughout. Temperature-controlled fermentation with the vineyard's own yeasts, 20 days of maceration, very long yeast storage, aging for 18 months in small oak barrels.
