About the wine

The Pinot Noir grapes come from the famous Sanford & Benedict vineyard, which was planted back in 1971 by Richard Sandford and Michael Benedict. In addition to a cool climate, the location has calcareous Botella clay soils with lots of gravel — ideal for Burgundy varieties. All vines are cultivated according to organic principles. After manual harvesting, the grapes are fermented with natural yeasts and 50% of styles. The aging takes place for 17 months in 228-liter French barriques with approx. 15% new wood content.

Tasting note
The Sanford & Benedict Pinot Noir shines in a strong ruby red. On the nose, strong aromas of dark cherries, plums, lavender, raspberries, spices, chocolate and some leather inspire. On the palate, the wine is intense and fruity with plenty of depth, juicy acidity, fine tannins and a mineral-chalky finish. A great and extremely balanced Pinot Noir with good aging potential.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with veal, poultry, game, dishes with cream sauce, stews, cheese.
