About the wine
The Pinot Noir grapes come from the famous Sanford & Benedict vineyard, which was planted back in 1971 by Richard Sandford and Michael Benedict. In addition to a cool climate, the location has calcareous Botella clay soils with lots of gravel — ideal for Burgundy varieties. All vines are cultivated according to organic principles. After manual harvesting, the grapes are fermented with natural yeasts and 50% of styles. The aging takes place for 17 months in 228-liter French barriques with approx. 15% new wood content.
