Tasting note
The Sancerre Rouge 2022 has a clear ruby red color. On the nose, aromas of red fruits such as cherries and raspberries develop, accompanied by floral notes and a subtle spiciness. On the palate, it has an elegant structure with fine tannins, lively acidity and a distinctive minerality, which gives the wine depth and complexity.
Culinary recommendation
Perfect with poultry, lamb dishes, mushroom risotto or mild cheeses.
Vinification
The grapes are completely destemmed and vinified and macerated over two weeks without the addition of sulfur dioxide, with only a small amount of extraction. The wine is then aged for 15 months, two thirds in fudern and one third in amphoras. There is no fining or filtration, and the total sulfur content during bottling is around 30 ppm.
