Dark mahogany with amber reflections Elegant sherry oak notes with a touch of honey, orange peel and spices. Very complex and multi-layered. The rum has been imported by Valdespino from Fidel Castro's Cuba since 1940 and matures in a solera that was built up in 1842. Since the yeasts collapsed in some of the old Oloroso barrels, they could no longer be filled with sherry. Empty, however, the row of barrels threatened to collapse. For decades, Solera has been refilled and refined with rum from Panama, Cuba and the Dominican Republic.
