About the wine
Christmas 2022 is just around the corner! Make the most of it with this distinctive Merlot 2021 — Roma DOC Rosso Classico! With experience and intuition, the winemaker from the Italian winery Damiano Federici masters this red wine in the blooming and fertile countryside in Lazio. The Flaschenpöstler promise a culinary experience when you serve this Merlot with slightly spicy red meat or duck.

Tasting note
Bright ruby red, the nose is wide, with notes of ripe red fruit that blend well with notes of licorice and spices. The taste is robust and full-bodied thanks to well-present tannins, which blend into the structure of the wine.
Culinary recommendation
With red meat and medium/long-aged cheese.
Vinification
Vinification at controlled temperature followed by maceration for around 20 days. After fermentation, the wine is refined on fine lees with weekly bâtonnage for about 4 months. From January, the wine ages for 6 months in 500 l tonneau of French oak.
