About the wine
Even the Romans knew what great wines were produced here and in the 3rd century they built vineyards in the steep slate slopes that still exist today and a villa complex on the historic Van Volxem s winery. Today, Roman Niewodniczanski and his team build on this rich tradition. Aware of the uniqueness of their history and locations combined with the necessary innovative spirit, they create wines from vines, some of which are over 120 years old, which are unrivalled in terms of excitement and expression. Tasting note
Dogs that bark... loudly, then softly... unbelievable multi-sided scent, very present, juicy nectarines, apricots, passion fruit, carried by a citric spiciness, bergamot, cedri lemon, as well as a hint of herbacy, lemon thyme, grounded by a stony minerality, warm slate dust and dry soil. Wonderfully delicate on the palate, a bit more reserved, fortunately! , the crisp, straight-lined freshness is quietly and all the more delightful, the spicy citrus aroma and a stony saltiness, very tame, begging for love, heartwarming, you give yourself over and over again.
