About the wine
The history of the winery dates back to the middle of the 19th century. In 1993, Mona Bastgen and her husband Armin Vogel took over the vineyards - privileged steep slate slopes near Bernkastel and Kesten - and founded their own estate in Vienna. They cultivate just 5 ha, but with even more care, a lot of manual work and organic (certified). Nature is also given plenty of space in the cellar, and this is how much-noticed Rieslings (and other things) are created at the small Bastgen winery far away from mainstream: transparent, precise, vibrating.

Tasting note
Classy daredevil. Start with a wonderful gesture, love and eroticism, passion fruit, peach, exotic notes, then full of direct energy, brighter and tart, citrus fruits, bergamot, slate and salty sea air. On the palate, firm and passionate, vibrant, masculine, aromatic power, distinctive acidity, slate, with a wonderfully furious, tart and fresh finish. Powerful, vital passion - only Riesling can do that.
