About the wine
The banker Carl Gunderloch founded the winery in 1890, which is now run by the Hasselbach family in the sixth generation. When caring for the 24-hectare vineyards, great emphasis is placed on the health and preservation of the vineyards and soils in order to keep the quality high for future generations. The wines impress with their concentration, longevity and mineral character.

Tasting note
Concentrated, full of substance, depth and phenol. Juiciness, energy, terrific length with mineral-herbal notes enchant the palate. Very rich in finesse!

Flaschenpöstler-Tipp: Riesling Nackenheimer Rothenberg Grosses Gewächs passt bestens zu Pilzen, indischer Küche und asiatischem Essen.
Vinification
After several harvests, the selected grapes are macerated for three to five days and then gently pressed. Fermentation is then carried out in 600 liter and 1200 liter wooden barrels and partly in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine then matures on full yeast until bottling in August. During this time, yeast topping (bâtonnage) is occasionally used.
