Riesling Grosses Gewachs Idig 2024 - Weingut Christmann

As always, we tried all of Christmann's large plants in a row. Idig clearly had the strongest and most intense expression of all. A whiff of yellow fruit can be seen here. Citrus fruit comes into its own with a lot of radiance. In general, this Grand Cru made from perfectly ripened grapes glows like the sun out of a glass. The complexity of the vintage leaves its mark and gives the Idig a very special character. In its young years, this great wine is still delicate and reserved on the palate. It is a real climb: from juicy, fresh citrus fruit to the impressive minerality and spice of the terroir. The minute-long aftertaste reflects the enormous substance in this wine. An even quieter Idig that has great potential — with the maturity even for 20+/20 points!
