About the wine
Bodegas Peñafiel, whose vineyards are 750 to 900 meters, is located in the heart of Ribera del Duero. Every single bottle of the bodegas contains a part of this region: the composition of the air, the intensity of the colors, the crackling dry heat of summer and the damp scent of winter. The production of wines from low-yield vines is limited in order to achieve a consistently high quality standard from year to year. Peñafiel also has vineyards in Rueda and Toro.

Tasting note
The Dominio de Miros impresses with a deep, cherry red color and purple reflections. On the nose, it develops intense aromas of ripe cherries, plums and violets, accompanied by nuances of sandalwood. On the palate, it is full-bodied with notes of blackberries, dried figs and cocoa, accompanied by vanilla and pepper spices. The tannins are excellently balanced, resulting in a long and harmonious finish.
Culinary recommendation
This wine goes well with game dishes such as venison ragout, braised leg of lamb or juicy roast beef. It is also an excellent accompaniment to aged cheese.
Vinification
After the late harvest in mid-October, the grapes are carefully harvested by hand in 12 kg boxes and stored in cold rooms at below 7 °C for 48 hours. This is followed by gentle destemming and aged in French oak barrels for 36 months, which gives the wine its complexity and depth.
