About the wine
Bodegas Peñafiel, whose vineyards are 750 to 900 meters, is located in the heart of Ribera del Duero. Every single bottle of the bodegas contains a part of this region: the composition of the air, the intensity of the colors, the crackling dry heat of summer and the damp scent of winter. The production of wines from low-yield vines is limited in order to achieve a consistently high quality standard from year to year. Peñafiel also has vineyards in Rueda and Toro.

Tasting note
Cherry red color with purple reflections, elegant, fruity aromas on the nose, currants, plums, as well as violets, coffee, roasted notes, voluminous yet elegant on the palate, lively, well-structured with a persistent finish.
Culinary recommendation
This wine goes well with stews, grilled red meats, wild fowl, roasted vegetables and cheese.
Vinification
After careful handpicking, the grapes are fermented in a temperature-controlled manner. The malolactic fermentation takes place in new French oak barrels with a capacity of 225 and 500 liters, with the wine being stirred regularly (bâtonnage).
