About the wine

La Rioja Alta S.A. embodies a century-old dream with a view to the future and stands for quality and loyalty to the origin of all its wineries. Bodega La Rioja Alta combines tradition and modernity with wines such as Gran Reserva 890, 904, Viña Ardanza or Viña Alberdi. High-quality wines also come from Torre de Oña in Rioja Alavesa, such as Finca San Martín Crianza. In Ribera del Duero, the Áster house continues the château concept with terroir-influenced red wines. Lagar de Cervera in Rías Baixas rounds off the portfolio with fresh, elegant albariños.

Tasting note
New contemporary style in Ribera Del Duero. Medium-deep ruby red color with a clean dark red edge. The nose shows expressive black fruits with notes of blueberries, blackberries, red plums, licorice, cardamom and mineral nuances as well as subtle traces of aging: coffee beans, toffee and candy box. The palate is deep and balanced, with remarkable freshness and elegance. The aftertaste is persistent and fruity. A full-bodied and juicy wine that is an excellent example of the contemporary Ribera del Duero, at the ideal time to enjoy it.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with pasta, rice dishes, sushi, white meats and fish.
Vinification
The harvest was done manually in 20 kg boxes, with the best grapes selected on optical sorting tables. Cold maceration helped to highlight the aromas of the grape varieties and the bright colors created as the grapes ripen. After alcoholic fermentation, 50% of malolactic fermentation took place in tanks and 50% in second-rate French oak barrels. Ageing in 20% new French oak barrels for 12 months with two manual stitches. After four months of blending in the tank, it was bottled in May 2023.
