Revenge of the Crayfish Chenin Blanc 2023 - Sakkie Mouton

Light, clear lemon yellow — extremely fresh nose with notes of crunchy green apples, limes and lemons as well as herbaceous notes. The palate is also dominated by a good portion of freshness, again of apples and green pears, plus citrusy notes of lime, lemon or even Japanese yuzu. The proximity of the vines to the cool Atlantic and the sandy soils give the wine a distinct minerality and a noticeable salinity, which manifests itself in almost iodic notes of oysters and a slightly salty taste on the tongue. The acid forms the backbone of this extremely exciting chenin blanc and guarantees it an exceptionally long life. Great stuff!
