About the wine
The 6-hectare Quinta do Cume has a state-of-the-art press — the realm of oenologist Jean-Hugues Gros. He had studied at the Ecole des Vins de Bourgogne before working in wine-growing regions in Morocco, California, Bordeaux and Champagne before finally choosing the Douro Valley, where he worked with great success.

Tasting note
Deep dark ruby red color. Intense ripe aromas of black fruit, dark plum and forest fruits with some fresh notes of Esteva (a local resinous shrub) combined with new oak and spices, making this wine complex and mysterious. On the palate, it shows good quality tannins, good concentration and elegance. Long lasting aftertaste. This wine, which is only produced in the best years, is an authentic blend of the best that the Douro has to offer.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with game, lamb, hearty beef dishes, hard cheese.
Vinification
Controlled fermentation at 25°C in steel tanks, then for 18 months in new French barriques.
