Primitivo P Salento Rosso IGP 2025 - Giovanni Petrelli

The name Primitivo means in a positive sense: original and indicates that this grape is the original variety of the region, perhaps even native before the Greeks demonstrably brought other varieties such as Aglianico to their colonies in Apulia (Magna Graecia). Later, because of its lovely soft character and rich aroma, it was well received by Californians, who immediately gave it its own name: Zinfandel. This is probably because you could probably associate something else with Primitivo. Primitvo produces rustic wine that is rich, lush, warm, round, and when well done with an appealing acid-sweet harmony. Petrelli wine corresponds to this image and is primarily characterized by an intense fruitiness that is reminiscent of canned black cherries.
