Tasting note
Porer is the name of a location from which Alois Lageder has been producing one of its best Pinot Grigio wines for decades. It is located on the rubble cone of the village of Margreid between 230 and 240 meters above sea level. The soil is rocky, sandy and highly calcareous, and the microclimate is characterized by large temperature differences between day and night. The vines are 12 to 40 years old and the yield is 54 hectoliters per hectare. The expansion of steel tanks on yeast takes six months. The result is a finely aromatic wine with notes of ripe, exotic fruits and subtle wood spice. On the palate, the Porer is light, mineral, racy and with an elegant melt. The grapes come from biodynamic farming and the wine is Demeter certified.
