About the wine
Kellerei Girlan is a winegrowers' cooperative in South Tyrol. It was founded in 1923. Today, over 200 winegrowing families are affiliated with it, who cultivate around 200 hectares of vineyards. The winery is located in the center of South Tyrol. It includes prime locations 440 to 550 m above sea level. Thanks to expert advice to winegrowers and the use of cutting-edge techniques, both of which require high-quality know-how, Kellerei Girlan has achieved a leading position in the wine world of South Tyrol.

Tasting note
Pinot Blanc is characterized by compact clusters with small greenish berries. It is the most common white grape variety in Girlan. Thanks to its delicate, fresh and at the same time full character, Platt&Riegl Pinot Bianco is ideal for all kinds of occasions.

The recommended enjoyment phase of this wine is in the following period: Now until 2026.
Vinification
The grapes are picked by hand and delivered in small containers. After subsequent whole grape pressing, the must is removed from the trub substances by natural sedimentation. The fermentation of approx. 50% of the grape must takes place in stainless steel tanks and 50% in large wooden barrels (50 hl.). Biological acid degradation is carried out in wooden barrels following fermentation. The aging takes place on fine yeast for a further 7 months.
