About the wine
Andrea Franchetti initially founded the Tenuta di Trinoro winery in Tuscany out of great passion but also out of unwillingness to return to his old life. In high, previously unused areas, he has established vineyards and quickly vinified great wines with Bordeaux varieties. The locals initially shook their heads, and the critics soon applauded. Passopisciaro, founded in 2001, is his second stop. Once again, Andrea was the first to recognize the great potential of Etna in Sicily, the volcanic soils, the warm days and the cool nights, the long growing season. And anyone who works with such passion and is so obsessed with quality will also plant new vines on an active volcano. The cultivation follows organic principles without artificial fertilizers and herbicides.
