About the wine
Marco de Bartoli is a personality, a figure in Sicily, father of the renaissance of Sicilian wines. With love and also a little anger and half his family, he has been fighting the big companies, the dishonest machinations and, above all, the decline of Marsala, which, in recent decades, has degenerated into a cheap wine, forgetting all tradition - not so with Marco! In its two wineries in Marsala and on the island of Pantelleria, only autochthonous vines are cultivated, but organic (certified), and after careful selection into independent wines with a touching soul shape.

Tasting note
Fairytale, bitter-sweet song in a barren landscape. Feminine, sweet, warm voice from afar, citrus fruits, dates, with a softly plaintive, wistful, bitter tone, bitter orange marmalade and black tea, over the barren volcanic landscape, ashes. On the palate again, this supporting, touching song, in sweet and gently bitter tones, is sung about life, dates, raisins, black tea, waves of bliss, longing and pain - full of love for existence. An ode to life!
Vinification
Low yields, selective manual harvesting. Half of the grapes are harvested earlier and dried in the sun for 2 weeks. They are added after pressing the other half and fermented with the vineyard's own yeasts, maceration for 3 months, aging in oak barrels, further aging in steel tanks and in the bottle.
