Paper Kite Oid Vine Sémillon 2024 - Thorne & Daughters

Light straw yellow with subtle copper reflections — surprisingly complex nose with unusual notes of chestnuts, nougat, nutmeg and the inimitable pepperiness of wild arugula. The palate is quite full-bodied and balanced with aromas of marzipan, yellow melon and citrusy acidity, which gives the wine structure and backbone. The grapes for this wine come from a 57-year-old vineyard in Swartland, where a vine spontaneously mutated into the Sémillon Gris variety appears here and there. These old Sémillon clones produce wines of fairytale beauty and an almost indescribable character!
