Nikolaihof Vinothek Riesling 2008 - Nikolaihof Wachau

The Riesling Vinothek is made exclusively from the best grapes of the vintage, selected from various top plots around Mautern. Due to the exceptionally long aging period of 16 (!) Years in traditional, 35-year-old large wooden barrels, the Vinothek Riesling develops impressive complexity as well as remarkable clarity and precision. The wine is very expressive and complex, with notes of marzipan, honey, ginger and a subtle touch of nutmeg. On the palate, despite its maturity, it appears crystalline and precise, with fine saltiness and great tension. The texture is round and harmonious, but at the same time vertical and focused, supported by tremendous concentration and elegance. A large, aged Riesling with depth, energy and exceptional length.
