About the wine
Vito Cantania, a successful Milanese businessman with Sicilian roots, inherited the vineyards in the mid-1990s and immediately began to resume the old wine-growing tradition. The entire company was renovated and expanded from head to toe. The vineyards were reforested and from then on farmed organically, new working methods were implemented and very privileged vineyards were purchased in Val di Noto. In a very short time, Gulfi, with its fine, racy Nero DaVola, which reflects the terroir, has become one of Sicily's leading producers and was named Winery of the Year in 2012.
Tasting note
Sweet passion in old age. Dark fruits, dried berries, black nuts, spices, eucalyptus. On the palate, sweet elegance and fiery seduction, rum fruits, licorice, nice balance and finesse, remain for a very long time.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with rack of lamb, braised beef, game dishes, hearty pasta such as tagliatelle al ragù, aged hard cheese or spicy Mediterranean cuisine. Also ideal with dark root vegetables from the oven or hearty mushroom dishes.

Selective reading by hand. Long maceration time and fermentation with skins. The aging takes place for 24 months in small and large oak barrels and 2 years in the bottle. Unfiltered
