Neitea Rosso IGT 2020 - Mormoraia

San Gimignano has a long tradition with the now renowned Vernaccia di San Gimignano. The success of this white wine has long largely displaced the red varieties, in particular the equally native Sangiovese grape. With improved farming methods, but also due to consumer trends that are significantly more inclined towards red wine, the red varieties are gaining ground again. For example, Pino Passoni from Azienda Mormoraia planted the first Sangiovese vines some time ago, experimented with them as well as with Cabernet and Merlot and was therefore increasingly successful. Today, his Neitea is a single-varietal Sangiovese aged in small oak barrels. Its characteristics are characterized by lively elegance, yet with respectable profundity with aromas in the fruity-spicy range. It is a racy food companion that is still exciting even after prolonged consumption, balanced and stimulating.
