About the wine
The winemaker from the Italian winery Poderi Colla is absolutely proficient in his craft. Elegance and finesse are the characteristics of this red wine, which originates in the sunny and blooming Piedmont countryside. Tasting note
Bright ruby red; delicate, delicately scented nose. Aromas of violets, dried rose petals, plums, dried fruit, some licorice and subtle notes of undergrowth. Full, juicy, structured palate, present but well-integrated tannins. Again, dark fruity aromas with floral-spicy components. Medium-long, beautifully structured finish.
Culinary recommendation
Excellent with pasta with spicy meat sauce and barbecues.
Vinification
The grapes for the “Drago” come from the eponymous vineyard at 400 m above sea level. Harvesting and gently pressing the grapes is followed by ten to twelve-day maceration. The young wine is then aged for eight to twelve months in Slavonian and French oak barrels.
