Moulin-à-Vent AOP Le Carquelin 2022 - Domaine Labruyère

Le Carquelin, a plot of just 1.75 hectares, is characterized by light, sandy clay and acidic soil. Here, the Gamay grape grows on vines that are over 50 years old. The harvest is done by hand in small 15 kg boxes to preserve the quality of the grapes. After harvesting, the grapes go through a double sorting table to obtain only the best fruits. After draining, the grapes are cold mashed in concrete tanks for about three days to extract the fine, silky tannins. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in the tanks by pumping around. Fermentation is followed by an eight-day maceration to complete the process. The result is a wine of almost perfect harmony with a complex bouquet characterized by spicy and berry notes as well as subtle vanilla aromas. Velvety and silky on the palate, wonderfully balanced with lots of freshness and impressive length. Pure elegance!
