About the wine
A must for connoisseurs, this dominant Shiraz 2014 — Mompertone Monferrato rosso DOC! The winemaker from the Italian winery Prunotto is absolutely proficient in his craft. Elegance and finesse are the characteristics of this red wine, which originates in the sunny and picturesque Piedmont countryside. Flaschenpöstler culinary tip: This Shiraz is ideal to serve with game or barbecue.
Tasting note
Ruby red with purple reflections. Multi-faceted bouquet with aromas of black fruits, plums, cherries, warm spices and some coffee. Dense and meaty on the palate, blackberry and spicy. A juicy acidity and velvety tannins give the wine the necessary framework. Medium-long, fruity aftertaste.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with meat as well as cold dishes and cheese.
Vinification
Both types of grapes are harvested separately. Also the subsequent mash fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The young wine is then blended (60/40) and aged for ten months in large oak barrels and in 225 l barriques.
