About the wine
Cottinelli was founded in Chur in 1868. Back then, in addition to wine, many Italian specialities were sold. A hundred years later, in 1970, they moved to Malans, where the Cottinelli wine house is still based today. Cottinelli cultivates a total of 22 hectares of vineyards from Maienfeld to Chur. The in-house production comprises five different lines. From modern to traditional, specialities and reserve wines.

Tasting note
In color, a dense Pinot - red. On the nose, finely spicy, soft wood notes, on the palate and on the finish, a rich, dense Pinot Noir with aging potential.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with red meats, game, cheese platters.
Vinification
Only the best grapes from the Molinaera vineyard in Trimmis are used for vinification. Thanks to consistent yield regulation on the vine, there is a rich Pinot Noir. The yield from the Molinaera plot never exceeds 600 to 700 gr/m2. After harvesting, the grapes are cooled down for 8 to 10 days (cold maceration). Then slightly warmed up (15 degrees). After spontaneous fermentation, 30% of the aging takes place in new barriques and the rest in barriques with 2nd and 3rd fillings. The final aging takes place in used 500 liter barriques for 2 months.
