About the wine
Founded in 1936, the Palamà winery is located on the sun-drenched Salento Peninsula in Apulia. In the early days, the wine produced there was sold exclusively in the surrounding osterias. In 1988, Cosimo, known as Nini, and Donato, the two sons of founder Michele Arcangelo Palamà, took over management and modernized the company. From then on, they began to press their wine under their own name. With a strict selection of vines and locations, combined with traditional wine-growing techniques, they increasingly increased the quality of the wines.

Tasting note
The name “Metiusco” is derived from Greek and means “I get drunk.” The label for this special edition of this year's “Metiusco series” was designed by renowned Italian illustrator Francesco Poroli! The edition is strictly limited! You can find out more about Poroli under the “Review” section. Metiusco Rosso is a blend of three indigenous Apulian grape varieties: Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera and Primitivo. The nose is an inviting mix of ripe cherries, strawberries, plums and slightly caramelized berries paired with spicy macchia notes. In the mouth, it is full, yet fresh and juicy. The aftertaste is long and aromatic, with nuances of aromas that are noticeable on the nose.
Culinary recommendation
With grilled meat, pasta, especially with minced meat sauce, or with lasagna and spicy hard cheese.
Vinification
Temperature-controlled fermentation and aging in steel tanks.
