About the wine
Since the Renaissance, the Vignamaggio winery has existed in the heart of the Chianti Classico wine region. In addition to the majority of autochthonous grape varieties, the organically certified estate also grows olives, fruits and grains. However, the main focus is on Chianti wines, which are particularly elegant and long-lasting here and therefore have international rénommée.

Tasting note
This Merlot smells invitingly of plums, ripe cherries and blueberries, accompanied by cigar and pine needles. On the palate, this wine combines power and elegance, it is velvety, gentle and very juicy. Ends in a long, spicy aftertaste.
Culinary recommendation
This Merlot goes well with braised beef, lamb dishes, game and aged cheese.
Vinification
The manual harvest takes place at the beginning of September, followed by a careful selection of the grapes. Fermentation takes place in small stainless steel tanks, with a maceration period of 15 days. The wine is then aged in French oak barriques for 18 to 24 months and in the bottle for a further 8 months.
