About the wine
If we can offer something special for Easter 2019, it is this dominant Pinot Noir 2015 Mercurey 1er cru ac Clos des Baraults. This Pinot Noir draws its strength and energy from the slate, gravelly soils in Burgundy. The winemaker from the French winery Michel Picard transforms it into a real treat with great sensitivity. Tasting note
Shiny ruby red with garnet reflections. On the nose, a clear, expressive fruit. Dark, small berries, some cherry, subtly accompanied by balsamic notes. Juicy on the palate, with ripe fruit notes, fine-grained tannins and a clear structure. Finally, the aftertaste is elegant and aromatic.
Culinary recommendation
A great accompaniment to classic meat dishes and French specialities with lamb, game and lentils.
Vinification
After harvesting by hand, the PINOT noir grapes are gently pressed and crushed. Fermentation takes place in large wooden vats. The young wine is then aged and refined in 228 liter pieces for 12 to 18 months.
