About the wine
Marko Fon is deeply rooted in the tradition and history of Karst. Together with a geologist friend, he made a map of the various rock formations around his village. The company has been family-owned for generations, formerly also in polyculture, and Marko then decided to only focus on wine. The label proudly depicts the well of Brije di Komnu, a hamlet that has groundwater and was therefore once considered wealthy.

Tasting note
Decanting or opening early is worthwhile here. Constantly changing in the glass, a salty-fruity delicacy: citrus, nectarines, mixed with herbs, hay, fresh flowers and candied orange peel. The most elegant and lightest palate of all Fon white wines, fresh, dense, with very light tannin and medium acidity. Very complex, extremely fair price, considering how much work and love goes into these wines!
Vinification
Everything is handmade, no pesticides or herbicides. Fanatic about caring for the vineyards - minimal intervention in the cellar. Short shell contact, which has always been practiced in the region, i.e. not in line with a current trend. Reductive aging in small neutral containers such as Demigianas (glass balloon) on fine yeasts. Minimal addition of sulfur only when bottled.
