Madre Rosso Toscana IGT 2021 - Poggio Antico

The Azienda Poggio Antico with its 37 hectares of vineyards is the highest vineyard in Montalcino. The vine has been certified organic since 2020. The fantastic thing about Azienda Poggio Antico wines is their combination of maximum concentration and the most sophisticated richness of nuances, they never seem overloaded or heavy. Madre is the name of a location that has always belonged to Poggio Antico. Today, there are a small portion of Cabernet Sauvignon vines here, which, in this blend, which bears the name of the vineyard, forms an exciting, modern alternative to classic Brunello di Montalcino. The wine ages in Tonneaux for around 18 months and bottled for at least another year. Due to the very low yields, the number of bottles produced is very limited. Madre is characterized by strong berry and spicy notes, embedded in fine wood aromas. Cabernet Sauvignon gives the blend with Sangiovese a peppery breed and a good tannin structure; Sangiovese in turn contributes to the final melting.
