About the wine
Olivier Rivière is a name you have to remember - or not, because you'll hear a lot more about him in the future anyway! His wines are too good and exceptional, so admirable for what he has already achieved and how freely and independently he goes his way. Through several very well-known stations in France and Spain, Olivier has gradually and purposefully acquired the knowledge of biodynamic viticulture and natural wine and has applied it on his own behalf since 2006 - his love for Burgundy has never been extinguished and blazes in every one of his wines. Tasting note
Made entirely of Merlot planted on a combination of limestone, sand and sandstone, the 2022 Les Jardins d'Edina unfolds in the glass with a pure, delicate bouquet of cassis, violets, dark berries and flowers. Medium to full-bodied, round and smooth, it is framed by velvety tannins and has a long, penetrating finish. Wine Advocate by Robert Parker
Vinification
Selective reading by hand. Fermentation of the destemmed berries with the vineyard's own yeasts, aging 2/3 in concrete tanks and 1/3 in 300L oak barrels.
