Mariano Buglioni, arguably one of the most innovative winemakers in Valpolicella — and far beyond — surprises with a pink wine that is anything but casual. In its home country, this type of wine is called Chiaretto — a term that promises lightness but has been implemented here with care, depth and precision. A small portion of the grapes from which Mariano could also press Amarone are used for this Chiaretto — which says a lot about the quality philosophy behind it. After harvesting, the juice remains in contact with the berry skins for only a few hours. Just enough to give the wine its delicate color — and that fine phenolic structure that makes it so special. The result is a brilliantly clear pink that impresses with its animating freshness, enchanting aroma and structural elegance. Not a summer wine, but a seriously beautiful rosé, which delights with its calm as with its clarity. Delicate notes of white flowers, wild strawberries, grapefruit spicy accents. Fresh, precise and clearly defined. Fine fruitiness with well-integrated acidity. Amazingly long-lasting.
