About the wine
Kairos Cuvée 2016 blends the boldness of Plavac Mali with the smooth, juicy charm of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Tempranillo. It’s a friendly red that’s easy to sip, making it a great choice for relaxed evenings and good company. Perfect when you want a wine that’s approachable, flavorful, and made for sharing moments.
Tasting note
Almost half is Plavac Mali, a quarter is Merlot and the rest is Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Tempranillo. Deep ruby red color. On the nose, there are noticeable notes of spices, sour cherries, plums and some vanilla. A full-bodied wine with ripe and polished tannins. The wine ages in oak barrels for 24 months, 50% new barrels, 50% old Croatian and French barriques. After aging barriques, it matures in stainless steel tanks for another year. Once bottled, it is stored for 6 months.
Culinary recommendation
It goes very well with lamb and stews.
Vinification
Expert work in the vineyard, including thinning the grapes in summer, aims to limit the yield to 600-800 g of grapes per vine. The grapes are selected individually by experts. The vinification then begins. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by 24-month aging in barriques
