Tasting note
This dark ruby red Zweigelt with purple reflections shines with its rich and fruity character. On the nose, aromas of black cherries, sour cherries, dark berries, sweet spices, black chocolate and a cigar box inspire. On the palate, it is extremely fruity and filling the palate. A delightful spice is surrounded by noticeable and velvety tannins and results in a slight extract sweetness. The aftertaste is long-lasting and is supported by cherry fruit. A stunning wine that wonderfully reflects the over 2000 hours of sunshine in Burgenland with its power, volume and seemingly endless fruit.

Vinification
This Zweigelt is a joint production by Bernhard Ernst and the sommelier team from Siebe Dupf Winery. In addition to its very elegant Zweigelt estate, the aim was to press a full-bodied Zweigelt, which combines all the Burgenland sunshine and can be wonderfully combined with hearty dishes. For this Zweigelt, only grapes from the hottest areas were harvested by Weingut Ernst. After a period of maceration and cool fermentation, 50% of the wine was aged for about 6 months in new French barriques and 50% in large wooden barrels. During the aging process, we regularly tasted together to find the right balance between fruit, wood, strength and finesse.
